It was a typical Tuesday morning in the office when the unthinkable happened: the donut box went missing.
The donut box in question was a rare 1987 limited edition, containing a dozen assorted pastel-colored sprinkles donuts. It was the pride of the team's break room.
At 9:45 AM, team member Dave reported the donuts missing during the weekly standup. The team's resident expert in pastry security, John, was called to the scene.
"I was in the middle of a critical meeting with our clients," John said, "and I didn't even think to ask for a donut break."
John and the team conducted an exhaustive search of the office, scouring every corner, crevice, and cubicle for any sign of the missing donuts.
They discovered a trail of crumbs on the conference room table, a faint scent of glaze on the 3rd floor, and a suspiciously empty donut box on the 5th floor.
"It's a classic case of the Vanishing Donut Syndrome," John said, "but we'll get to the bottom of it."
After 3 hours of intense investigation, the team finally discovered the missing donuts in the supply closet, hidden behind a shelf of staplers and a stack of old binders.
A hastily formed Donut Recovery Task Force was assembled to deal with the aftermath, and the team was able to recover the stolen donuts and restore order to the office.
Case Closed.
